Where can I pray?
|
|
There is a prayer board
in front of the
Lady Chapel screen where you can write your concerns. These are
prayed on your behalf at Morning Prayer.
|
|
Visitors can light a candle and place
it in the stand in front of the screen to the Lady Chapel; the candle
burns as a symbol of their prayers... [picture]

If you
are unable to leave a card on the prayer board, you can email us with
your concerns and we will pray them on your behalf. [email]

Labyrinth Prayer

walk regularly. See the Labyrinth
page for more information, dates and times.

God our Father
who called your servant John the Baptist
to be the herald in birth and death
of Christ your Son:
strengthen us by your grace
that we may bear witness boldly to your word
and receive with him the unfading crown of glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

There is a quarterly team
Healing Service, where the ministry of the Laying on of Hands with
Prayer is offered, held at the team churches in turn. Laying on
of hands with prayer for healing is offered after the St John's 9:20am
service once a month in the Chapel of the
Transfiguration.

The Julian

An Icon of St
John the Baptist was given to the church in 2004 by Peggy Vicary in
memory of her husband Peter who worshipped at St John's for many years
and was the Church Archivist.
The icon
serves as a focus for prayer in the Lady Chapel. It was painted
by Sœur Irène-Marie OSB at the
Monastère
Ste Françoise-Romaine in
Bec-Hellouin in Normandy. Pray

the
Transfiguration
|
|
Chapel
of
the
Transfiguration
is used for 9am Morning Prayer, for laying on of
hands and praying together during healing services. It is a quiet
space, fitted with seating in the round, designed to help people be
quiet and sit in God's presence. As a focus for prayer there is
an icon of the Transfiguration,
written by Sœur Irène-Marie, who painted
our icon of St John the Baptist. It is also kept available for quiet
prayer when the church is busy with other things.
